February 24, 2006 Casting Off Hello, it's been awhile. I haven't been knitting at all lately, but started up where I left off a few days ago. So, here I am. Right now I am trying to get done all the things I started. Clean up the loose ends and start new things. Halfway Done! Curlicues... Casting an afternoon shadow. This green scarf thing is something I originally started before Christmas, but when I got so far, I thought maybe it wasn't for me. I got so far as to yank the whole thing off the needles. It was basically done, all that was left was to cast off, but when I did pull it off the needles and take a look at it all curling around, I thought "That's sorta too neat." So, I spent the better part of 30 minutes putting all those little slippery stitches back on the needle. And since then I have been working on casting off all those stitches here and there. The scarf sits on the passenger seat of my car and I pick it up when I am waiting for the kids at school or whatever. It's just too tedious to sit down and do it all at once, especially since this yarn can be a little slippery and requires constant full on attention. So far, it's been about 90 minutes of work and I am halfway there! (I think I worked it up to 5000 stitches, so only 2500 to go!) *insert world-weary sigh* (haha)
