Hooray! Welcome to the world of fickle female offspring! The second you have them pegged-WHAM-you get a thank you instead of having to convince them that what you want is what they want (of course, what they want is never the same). Becky looks adorable, of course. She hardly needs the cute things you make her to look good, but she is a great canvas to have to knit for! So your knitting and your patience have been rewarded!
Posted by Teresa C at May 27, 2004 05:08 PMOh cute, cute, cute! I need to upsize Anouk for the Diva..... Oh yeah, I've gotta do that!!!
Posted by Rose at May 27, 2004 06:12 PMAdorable! (Both Anouk and Becky, that is!) . . . I'm almost getting tempted to make one myself! I don't know who would be the recipient, though -- all my friends keep having boy-children, and all my little tiny girlfriends are too big and are now into wearing jeans and shorts and absolutely not any girly dresses.
Posted by chris at May 27, 2004 06:34 PMI'm here! *teehee* She is absolutely adorable in Anouk. So sweet. Have fun this weekend!
Posted by Kerstin at May 27, 2004 06:38 PMSo cute, makes me wish I had a girl...
Posted by Michelle at May 27, 2004 08:13 PMAnouk looks so sweet on your Becky (with the jeans especially, hee hee)!
Posted by susan in pa at May 27, 2004 08:31 PMOhhh she looks perfectly adorable in that dress! She's a great little "model" isn't she?
Posted by the country girl at May 27, 2004 08:52 PMBravo! Great anouk and great photo shoot. You'll have to post a detailed tutorial on pocket reinforcement. Can it be done by hand?
Posted by Julia at May 27, 2004 11:48 PMThat looks gorgeous Leigh, no wonder Becky likes it so much. I love the way it looks on an older child, I must get working on Brooke's one soon!
Posted by kerrie at May 28, 2004 01:09 AMIt looks great, and that's really fab she likes it! It looks very cute over her trousers.
Posted by jen at May 28, 2004 03:01 AMYour Anouk is so beautiful. I have to get started on mine. Its looks so nice over the jeans and with the mini birks. Too cute. I better just sit down and commit to upsizing 'cause my mini could get a lot of wear out of that this summer. Great job!
Posted by froggy at May 28, 2004 03:23 AMAw, Leigh, that is bee-yoo-tee-ful ~ the girl and her pinafore! I'll check your archives to be reminded whether you upsized it on your own. But could you remind me how old sweet Becky is? (C, newly 3, tallied 24 lbs. & 34" Monday if you're interested in comparisons)
Posted by maggi at May 28, 2004 08:13 AMJust adorable! I love the dress/tunic over jeans look too. Wish I could wear one. ;0) Thanks for the reinforcing info too. Great tip for pockets!
Posted by alison at May 28, 2004 09:16 AMAdorable! I just love that sweet Becky, and your knitting is fabulous! Great idea about the dryer sheet. You're a thinker, stinker! ;)
Have a wonderful weekend! xxoo
Posted by officeGib at May 28, 2004 09:30 AMThanks for sharing all of the finishing details. Looks so cute!
Posted by Melissa at May 28, 2004 12:13 PMWell Becky's so cute she'd look like a million bucks in any old rag, but that Anouk is on cute dress! I think the ingenious use of a dryer sheet is a wonderful idea, light and stable, just what you wanted. A beautiful job as usual. Now make something for yourself! (Like using that indigo drop spindled MD yumminess.)
Posted by Silvia at May 28, 2004 02:14 PMi absolutley love that Anouk on your daughter
now it's tempting me to make one for mine.
I never thought of it as anything besides a baby dress but i think it's fantastic for that age!!!!!
Your work is very inspiring!! THANKS
Becky looks simply adorable in her new pinafore! You did a beautiful job on it and thank you for sharing the finishing details :)
Posted by Amy at May 29, 2004 10:41 AMTo heck with having a little girl. . . I want one to wear over my clam digger jeans. That is the cutest outfit I've seen this side of Oilily! Congrats on a beautiful pair (little girl and tunic that is).
Posted by julia fc at May 29, 2004 12:32 PMIt's GORGeOUS!!! And Becky just gets cuter and cuter by the minute - look how much she's grown since the pic on the right - OMG! LOVE Anouk on her - Yay!
Posted by Alysia at May 29, 2004 11:30 PMalthough the dress is adorable, i have to say that the model is much more so. how cute is your little girl!
Posted by maryse at June 1, 2004 10:55 AMLovely!! You can be very proud of the result. I'm just wondering - did you change the pattern? I have a soon 2 year old daughter, and I'm wondering how the anouk would work for her, and if I should upsize it. Would love to hear what you've done with it.
Posted by Helene at June 2, 2004 02:48 PMAwww, what a sweet little doll-baby you have there! I'm so glad she loved her new dress! Her "tank you" was priceless :-)
Posted by Amy at June 2, 2004 07:48 PMI LOOOOOVE this dress!! & I think my son has a crush on your daughter ;) He keeps having me click on her pictures. Where did you get the pattern from that from? I'd love to make one.
Thanks Oodles in Advance
Adorable, Leigh!
Posted by alison at June 7, 2004 03:00 AMWow! It's wonderful! Plus Becky is adorable!
Great job! I just finished the back of my Anouk. I can't wait to get more of it done!
It's nice to see the finished piece in "movement"!
Bravo!
