Comments: The Mannings Spinning Seminar

Oh yeah... Camel down!!! I bought some handspun from Hokulani Farms at the fiber Expo here in Seattle... It was very "crunchy" till I gave it a good soak... Oh la la!!!!

Like I have said... Darn it! I wish I could spin!!! (You have me convinced... I am signing up for one!!! Wahoo!!)

Your favorite spindle?!? What happened to the lovely purpleheart? I guess a girl can never have enough spindles. But NO Koigu? We'll just have to see about that in a couple weeks, won't we? (I think the decision is down to Greyhound or Fung Wah. Pete votes for Chinatown. He thinks it's a safer drop-off point than the Greyhound. At this point, I'm ready to FLY. But then we'd have the cab ride to deal with. Could this be any harder to figure out?!?)

Gee...I couldn't tell there was SUCH an attraction with regards to the flax guy! ; )
You spun all that since we left you! What am I talking about!, Carrie did also! She is hooked!

Well I admire you for staying focused on the doilies and not going down another road. Self discipline. Something I seem to be lacking these days!

Love all the animal pictures. I love to look at Jacob sheep, so darn cute.

Nice yarn purchases even without the Koigu.

Very pretty spindle. I have some exotic fibers to spin but haven't gotten around to them yet. I guess I will have to dig them out and give them a spin.

That cria is ADORABLE!!!! I wonder if, once we buy a house, the Hub would let me get one . . . maybe if I put it in the context of not having to mow the backyard? Oh, wait . . . I think there is some sort of city ordinance against keeping things like that in the city. Grrr.

looks like you had a great time - I WISH I HAD BEEN THERE

Oh! I wish I had gone after all! I had planned to, but we got caught up in yardwork instead (not a great trade off). Next time, I hope!

Thanks so much for all your help yesterday... I broke out the spindle to show off my lumpy beginings to the entire family today!

That sounds like a fantastic day, love the animal photos - Hazel looks so cute!

What great pictures! And your new spindle is gorgeous!! It still blows my mind what you and Loose Ends Melissa are able to do with those crazy spindles. Maybe someday I'll get the hang of mine.

Camel top and camel down? Who wooda thunk it? There is something to be learned every day from you, Leigh!

Chris, I thought the same thing! We have a big yard..one or two alpaca wouldn't hurt..hehe. But alas, we're on the edge of agricultural land..right across the main street leading to our street I could have one..but not at MY house. :( Maybe I can plead my case.

Leigh, great pics and wonderful looking yarn. I'm having the same problem you had a couple posts back..I had a half pound of fiber..and spun one tighter (although it was the wheel..not me..I plied on two different whorl settings..hehe) Now I'm trying to decide if I want to loosen the tighter one as I like the looser one better. Hmmm....

Adorable cria! Makes me want to jump into the picture so I can pet it. Thanks for sharing the pics so I can live vicariously!

Love all the little critters! Love the orange doily! That is perfect for the 21st Century!!

That's not just a spindle, that's a WEAPON! Jees woman, I'd hate it if you were mad at me...

Orange crochet yarn rocks! There were some nutty Japanese crochet books at the bookstore, though I'm thinking crochet is hard to figure out without any knowledge of Japanese than knitting. The Sandra mag people have fun projects in the Anna book for crochet, have you checked those out?
