They're gorgeous, Leigh. Fit is always an issue with gift socks, but is there anyone who doesn't LIKE handknitted socks? No, I don't think there is. The recipient will be thrilled.

I just finished up the first sock in this pattern (also a gift). I loved the pattern--the way the diamond works out so you don't have to count rows between cabling rows--how smart is that?

I'm sure your recipient will love them!
