That is SO beautiful!!! I'm learning on bad wool right now, but you're inspiring me to go check out some of the more expensive items I've gotten off ebay. AND to definitely go to rhinebeck....

It looks amazing, and the puffiness looks so cozy!

Your spinning looks great! When I was first learning to spin, I bought some rainbow dyed roving. I spun it up, and my friend who taught me took one look at how all the colors matched up in my two-ply, and said, "what did you do to match them?". I had NO IDEA. Beginners luck, I guess.

It's a great idea to use coordinating rovings for plying. That's one of the premises in The Twisted Sisters Sock Book.

PRETTY!!

Uh, now I don't spin, but did you really shove roving and/or yarn in the microwave? On like the popcorn setting?

Ahh..now that looks like I remember! Pretty!
I would think definitly not bad for a first try.

You perfectly described the situation that I ran into with the Ravenheart roving that I recently spun.

I didn't even anticipate that I would have long colors on the singles that were destined to ply with the same color on the the other single. Like the yellow and the brown! And as I was plying, I had to resign myself to the same colors plying themselves together - and told myself to come up with a better plan for the next time.

I was surprised that it knit up nicer than what I would have expected. The distance of the same color plied together didn't seem nearly as long while knitting the yarn, as they did while plying it. Does that make sense?

You can evaluate the mittens when I see you on Friday(!) and decide for yourself what you think!

:)

If you guys don't quit with the beautiful handspun you're going to get me hooked! Really pretty yarn. How do you think it will knit up?

Wow! That looks great! Your spinning is so even...impressive.

Lovely wheel and lovely yarn! I love my Robin wheel :-)).

Sometimes if you navaho ply these kinds of rovings, it makes for a more predictable yarn :-))

Have fun! As Margene would say......it's the process. :-)
