i like them! the colors are dreamy. and you wanna talk about too big socks? i have you beat...they're even too big for dh's monster feet :O)
Posted by amanda at May 23, 2005 10:24 AMThat is a wonderful colorway.
Posted by claudia at May 23, 2005 10:53 AMThe colors are soooo beautiful!
And I like your heel-technique!
What ribbing do you do for 63 and 65 sts? (I like even numbers and symetry, so I usually do 2x2 ribbing on 60 or 64 sts. I once did a sock with a multiple of 5 stitches with 3x2 ribbing, and I spent 2" singing Dave Brubeck's "Take Five" in my head...)
Posted by Ingrid at May 23, 2005 11:24 AMI like the wider ribbing. The 1x1 always looks weenyish to me. Can't wait for my Trekking 100. It should be here soon!
Posted by Kerstin at May 23, 2005 11:50 AMThose are soooo pretty! I think I must be an uber loose knitter, I use anywhere from 56 to 60 stitches.
Posted by Silvia at May 23, 2005 11:58 AMI thought we left you that day knitting in the low 60's?? Apparently not convincing enought for yea ; )
I still love them.
That colorway IS scrumptious. Well, it's raining here again, just when I was going to go out in the garden. This is ridiculous. What shall I do? Hey, I KNOW! Knit! What a novel concept! (but first I have to take Vinnie to get his stitches out.)
Posted by Norma at May 23, 2005 12:33 PMGorgeous socks! Wow.
Posted by c at May 23, 2005 01:30 PMBeautiful! Good job!
Posted by Heather at May 23, 2005 01:43 PMNow I can't wiat to knit up my trekking socks. Yours are beautiful :)
Posted by Vicki at May 23, 2005 01:59 PMWow, what a beautiful yarn. I like those socks a lot!
Posted by Hanna at May 23, 2005 02:05 PMThey look great on you. Granny ankles? I doubt it - looks like shadows to me.
Posted by Cassie at May 23, 2005 03:03 PMTrekking, huh? Guess my credit card will get some more use. :)
Listen, when Carolyn is right, she is RIGHT.
Love them. Even your ankles. Which makes me a bit uncomfortable really.
sandy is a star.
they look lovely m'dear.
and one day 30 years from now, you may be a granny. your socks will be ready!!! :)
tee hee, just teasin'.
p.s. dude. seriously i think i'm being misquoted. i think i said 60 or 64. didn't you have 56 and it was too tight? and then you were going up to like 68 or 72. and i said "uh dude. that's crazy! 60 or 64." i don't think i've ever used 63 or 65. i'm just sayin' is all.
Posted by carolyn at May 24, 2005 11:40 AMI love them, they look great. Must. Learn. To. Make. Socks.
